Feedzai

Fraud and risk ML

Feedzai is a machine learning fraud and financial crime platform covering transaction fraud, scam prevention, onboarding and AML monitoring, reporting roughly 120 billion events processed a year. US community banks and credit unions typically reach it through Jack Henry Financial Crimes Defender, which Jack Henry built on Feedzai.

What it is

Feedzai applies machine learning across the whole customer lifecycle: transaction fraud, new account fraud, scam prevention, onboarding, behavioural biometrics and device intelligence, watchlist screening and AML monitoring. It also runs a network intelligence layer producing a cross-customer risk score and markets a tabular foundation model trained on financial transactions, and reports processing roughly 120 billion events a year. For a US community institution the realistic path to this technology is not a Feedzai contract. It is Jack Henry Financial Crimes Defender, the fraud and AML platform Jack Henry built on Feedzai and announced in August 2022, which embeds the Federal Reserve FraudClassifier model natively.

What it does

  • Real-time transaction fraud scoring across payment types
  • Scam prevention, onboarding fraud and behavioural biometrics in one platform
  • Network intelligence producing a cross-customer risk score
  • AML transaction monitoring and watchlist screening
  • Delivered to community institutions inside Jack Henry Financial Crimes Defender

Strengths

  • The most consistently recommended fraud engine across AI assistants, named by all five on the fraud and AML question
  • ICBA added Jack Henry Financial Crimes Defender to its Preferred Service Provider program in March 2026, which is a community bank trade association vetting the Feedzai-powered product
  • Institutions on a Jack Henry core get the models through an existing relationship, with one contract and no separate integration project
  • Defender has the Federal Reserve FraudClassifier model built in, which maps onto board and examiner reporting

Considerations

  • Feedzai does not sell to community institutions directly in any meaningful way, so the buying path effectively requires a Jack Henry relationship
  • Buying through an OEM puts support, SLA and roadmap influence with Jack Henry rather than Feedzai
  • Founding year could not be verified; published sources conflict between 2008 and 2011
  • No published pricing from either party

Best when

You run a Jack Henry core and want fraud models you could not build yourself.
